If you’re running three of the most recent versions of Windows 10, then it’s time to head to Windows Update for some new love from Microsoft. Noted by Neowin, the technology firm tonight has pushed out updates for Windows 10 versions 1803, 1709, and 1703. The updates address some persistent issues across all three versions of Windows 10, and more.

KB4041676 Windows 10 Version 1703 Cumulative Security Update for October 2017 Patch Tuesday is released by Microsoft. We are providing KB4041676 direct download links. First off, if you’re on the Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803,) you’ll be seeing KB4345421. This update bumps your build up to 17134.166, and you can manually download it here if you’re not seeing it in Windows Update. There are no known issues with this update, and you can check below for more on what’s changed.

• Addresses an issue that occurs when an administrator tries to stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC). The W3SVC remains in a “stopping” state, but cannot fully stop or it cannot be restarted.

If you’re still running the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709,) you’ll be seeing KB4345420. This will bump your build number slightly up to 16299.550, and come in with the same fixes seen above, and a new set of known issues. Again, you can check here to manually download if it is not working appearing you, and read on below for the problems which Microsoft is working to fix in the upcoming release.

Lastly, if you’re still holding onto the Creators Update (version 1703,) you will be seeing KB4345419, bumping your build to 15063.1208. The update can be manually downloaded here, and it comes with the same new fixes and known issues seen above, but not the fix for the DHCP Failover issue.

The last set of updates for Windows 10 version 1803 came just last week, then to fix five specific issues in the April 2018 update. Microsoft is always working to fix Windows 10 issues based on the feedback so if you are having an issue with your version of Windows be sure to report it.

Download 1703 Update Manually

Microsoft has released a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703), but it’s worth having in mind that this particular version no longer gets updates unless you are running the Education or Enterprise SKUs.

The update that’s now shipping to devices is KB4480959 and it brings several improvements, some of which are also part of the other cumulative updates published in mid-January.

For example, the update resolves a bug that blocked some applications from displaying the help windows correctly, while also resolving Access Denied errors when trying to overwrite files in a shared folder.

Microsoft says cumulative update KB4480959 also includes improvements specifically aimed at users working with the DFS Namespace. The changelog reads:

“Addresses an issue that may cause a 30-second delay when deleting or renaming a link in a Distributed File System (DFS) Namespace. Additionally, renaming a folder may take 30 seconds when multiple users work in a group share simultaneously, and File Explorer stops responding,” the full changelog is available in the box after the jump.

Cumulative update KB4480959 comes with two known issues that are plaguing other updates released this month too. One of them breaks down the SqlConnection module, while the other one causes problems when trying to work with Microsoft Jet databases in the Access 97 file format.

Keep in mind that this version is only serviced as part of Windows 10 Education and Enterprise, and Microsoft recommends upgrading as soon as possible.

“Windows 10, version 1703, reached end of service on October 8, 2018. Devices running Windows 10 Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation, and IoT Core editions will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats,” the company says.

There are no reports pointing to failed installs of this cumulative update, and everything seems to be working correctly on devices still running Windows 10 version 1703.
