I also just went to random places and let the music play, it gives my room a nice ambiance. This game is such an awesome game, when I was younger I always liked to make things (still do, in fact) and invent new contraptions. I was overjoyed when I discovered that Max can invent things! This is a long game, which is so nice because you actually have time to get to know Max and Monica. A well made game, with interesting graphics to say the least.. But so much to do, worth every penny. -T-elospathic

This game has incredible things to offer. It has a new unique Georama system to actually create your own world maps. Much better than Dark Cloud One. It has character voicing and a brand new storyline, sophistocated, unique, and exciting. The combat system has a great improvement that is easy to learn and fun to use. The weapon buildups and concept of synthesis points are greatly forgiving compared to the last game. The new Ridepod and Monster features are intuitive as they have a good deal of customization and freedom. It can be made to a players personal preference. Aside from this, the game offers new sports including a revised fishing game and Spheda which is similar to golf. The music has been well crafted. It contains the fluid feel of poetry and art mixed with its dramatic symphonic flow to truly put players into the game. In addition, the newly designed cel-shaded graphics are something to admire. Ultimately, the game has great value to it, with its many pros, it is definitely worth the money. I leave you saying that the game should be bought and a final score of (ten out of ten.)

I always loved the music in this game, and it's pretty hard not to. It runs the gamut from slow and peaceful, like fishing and Veniccio's theme, to suspenseful, like on the last floor of a dungeon, or the Zelmite Mines. It's just too bad certain songs only play two or three times..

This already magnificent masterpiece of a game has the best sound design I have EVER seen. Sound engineers, voice actors, everyone under the sun that works with sound, do yourself a favor and play this game. It contains so many examples of how to do something RIGHT, with the right ear it plays like a how to for amazing sound design.

This game is the best game ever to be made for the ps2. It outrivals many of the new ps3 games full stop , as there is just not enough variety of games on the ps3 as the ps2. This game is awesomw, I bought it 4 or 5 times because even though i sold it, I had t have it back!!. Sadly though, due to the decline of the ps2, because the grapihc are 'unadequate', this gae has dissapeared but is a treasure that everybody who has experienced the epicness and fluedness will never forget. RIP dark chronicle, and role on dark cloud 3!!

I once wanted Dark Cloud after playing the pre-veiw. My dad couldn't find it though. But he found Dark Chronicle. Now I can't stop playing it. It is so AWSOME!!! I go to places like Viniccio and Balance Vally to listen to the music sometimes. It is also a verry long game. I got it in 2007! and still trying to defeat the Darkness!

The dark cloud and dark cronicle (dark cloud 2) score has been the background music to my life, quite litearly so i have nothing but great comments and prase for this game and out of the 200+ ps2 games that i own this is number 2, dark cloud 1 being number 1 just beacause of certin points and charictors like king seda and the sun-giant :P
1000/1000 but i cant rate that high aparintly :P

I was finally able to play this game again after I lost the CD a few years ago. I completely forgot about all the things, I wasn't even sure that I had beaten the game once. (because it seems I lost it after I finished playing it once)
Man.. This game is totally great. I really recommend this game to you all, gamers in the world.

Beautiful music, beautiful scenery and beautiful mechanics. This game has it all. Crafting, fishing, inventing, photography, fighting, shooting and magic. Airships, demented clowns, evil emperors, talking trees, great sages, lunatic scientists, sea monsters and a massive robot you control. Did I mention you can transform into monsters and jump between past and future to see what changes your actions make 100 years on? Well you can do that too!
Definit ely one of my favorite games of all time and I can't recommend it highly enough.

This was by far my favorite game of all time! I loved every bit of it, from the exciting combat, to the Georama, and even weapon customization. Top it off with graphics that were killer for the PS2 and an amazing soundtrack, and it's a classic everyone should play.

Most of the comments here are saying this game is the best. But I have to disagree.
I personally believe Dark Cloud (NOT Dark Chronicle) is the best of it's series. The gameplay is still there, with all it's action-packed glory, but the story behind it just doesn't seem as epic as DC. I've beaten the game but I didn't feel any real satisfaction at the end, not like I did with DC anyway.
I also, personally, think they should have continued to use text instead of voice actors, but that's just a personal view.
The graphics are way too cheesy and cartoonified, like it was MEANT for the younger generation rather than all players.
The music is probably the best thing about the game, but I'm kind of biased about music, anyway. Even the characters themselves seem to be a bit.. monotonous, uninteresting. Saying that, you could probably say the same about the main character in DC.
Ugh, I don't half complain about stuff, do I? But that's me. I like to moan.
